MLT/CLS Opportunities in Tyler, TX

Location: Tyler, TX
Rate: $20/hr - $32/hr

Schedule:

Clinic Setting: M-F days (8am-5pm) these hours can vary slightly
Hospital Setting: Evenings 2:30pm – 11:00pm and rotating every 3rd weekend. Nights 10:30pm – 7:00am and rotating every 3^rd weekend

Requirements:
ASCP or AMT certification is required within the 1^st year of employment. We accept one or the other.
We are seeking generalists that have some Chemistry and/or Hematology and Blood Bank (preferred but not required).
Micro plate reading experience (preferred but not required)
We process blood, urine, stool, swabs, CSF, pleural fluid, abdominal fluid, synovial fluid. We are very high complexity lab and a high volume workload. Blood Bank does full workup antibodies too. Very little is referred to other reference labs.

Opportunity Details:

This position performs all routine and complicated laboratory procedures including specimen processing and handling, testing of patient specimens, calculating, and reporting of results, performance of quality control procedures, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, assisting in the development of new procedures and protocols, may perform phlebotomy and other patient-oriented tasks, and may perform other related duties as requested or directed.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
Clinical laboratory experience, which must include a clinical rotation through the following sections of the laboratory: Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S. or with an accredited laboratory within the last 5 years OR 5 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT II cannot move to a CLS II).

Requirements/Education/Certifications:

Must have 1 year in the intended area we are submitting
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree depending on MLT or CLS level
Must have ASCP or AMT
Require COVID vaccination
