Job description

The Senior Director of Compensation will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the compensation and payroll functions within the organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive compensation programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance in payroll processing, and integrating Workday compensation systems seamlessly into our existing infrastructure. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of compensation principles, payroll administration, and HRIS systems, along with exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective compensation strategies and programs that align with organizational goals and objectives.

  2. Lead the design, analysis, and administration of compensation structures, including base pay, incentive plans, and equity programs, to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.

  3. Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation practices and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.

  4. Partner with senior leadership and HR teams to provide guidance and recommendations on compensation-related matters, including salary offers, promotions, and job evaluations.

  5. Oversee payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  6. Lead the integration of Workday compensation systems, including configuration, testing, and optimization to support business needs and enhance efficiency.

  7. Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation and payroll matters, providing guidance, training, and support to HR professionals and business leaders.

  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, consultants, and industry partners to leverage expertise and resources as needed.

  9. Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline compensation and payroll processes and enhance overall effectiveness and scalability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CCP, CBP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in compensation, payroll management, and HRIS systems, with a proven track record of success in leadership roles.

  • Extensive knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulations, including experience with incentive plan design, salary benchmarking, and equity programs.

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax compliance, and payroll system administration, with experience using payroll software

  • Demonstrated experience leading Workday compensation module including integrations

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions to support business objectives.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
